2001 gegründet, entwickelte sich Heckert-B.X.T. Solar GmbH vom Maschinenbau unternehmen schnell zum Modulhersteller. 2003 gingen die ersten Poly-Modul in den Vertrieb, bei einer Produktionsmenge von 6,0 MW pro Jahr. Die Produktionskapazitäten und- flächen wurden über die Jahre kontinuierlich erweitert. 2009 liefen 90 MW pro Jahr vom Band, 2015 bereits 240 MW. Die derzeitige Produktion (2021) liegt bei 800 MW.

Seit 2019 produziert Heckert mit dem NeMo 2.0 60M ein leistungsstarkes 60-Zellen-Mono-Modul bis 330W.
Im September 2021 erfolgte die Einweihung des neuen Modulwerkes für die NeMo 3.0 120M-Serie.
Das neue Halbzellen-Modul erzielt eine Leistung von bis zu 380W.
Im Frühjahr 2024 erfolgte die Markteinführung der Apollon-Serie mit n-Type Topcon-Zellen. Für das Frühjahr 2026 ist die Markteinführung der neuen Modulserie Zeus 3.0 mit Topcon Rückseitenkontakt-Zellen und einer Modulleistung bis 480W geplant.

Neben dem Kerngeschäft liefert Heckert Solar als Systemanbieter eine Vielzahl von PV-Komponenten. Mit Gründung der Deutschen Speicherwerke GmbH stieg das Unternehmen 2025 in den Groß-Batteriespeicher-Markt für kommerzielle Anwendungen ein. Das Unternehmen ist familiengeführt und befindet sich im Privatbesitz der Familie Trinkerl.
